Cloudflare Pricing Calculator

Cloudflare gives us most of what we need in one place: websites and APIs with Workers, databases, object storage, images and video, queues, workflows, analytics, Hyperdrive, real-time connections with Durable Objects, domain management, and more.

Although we make hosting decisions on a case-by-case basis, Cloudflare has become our go-to platform for most deployments. One exception is the database layer, where we typically use Postgres through PlanetScale, starting at $5 per month. Cloudflare D1 is great for many use cases, but its 10 GB database size limit can become restrictive, while Postgres, with its mature ecosystem and wide range of extensions, is generally a better fit for larger production workloads.

One of the harder parts when planning a project is understanding what all of this will actually cost at scale. Cloudflare's pricing is spread across different products, each with its own limits and usage-based pricing.

We also use it as a resource we can forward to clients so they can get a rough idea of infrastructure costs based on their expected usage.

This is a planning estimate, not a quote or invoice. It models public self-service pricing in USD, assumes a 30-day month where needed, and excludes taxes. Cloudflare rounds some R2 usage up to billing units; this calculator applies that rounding.

What the estimate includes

Every estimate starts with the $5 per month Workers Paid plan. That base includes the first 10 million dynamic requests and 30 million CPU milliseconds shared by Workers and Workflows, so the calculator applies those account-level allowances once rather than once per product.

The calculator covers the developer services we use most often: Workers, Durable Objects, D1, R2, KV, Queues, Workflows, Vectorize, Workers AI, Images, Stream, Browser Run, Workers Logs, Containers, and AI Gateway. It also has manual inputs for domain renewals, the external database behind Hyperdrive, and products with account-specific or negotiated pricing.

Some useful Cloudflare products add no separate usage charge in this model. Static asset requests on Workers are free and unlimited. Hyperdrive is included on the paid Workers plan, Turnstile is free for most production applications, and the core AI Gateway features are free. Those are shown separately from the billable line items so a zero does not look like a missing calculation.

How to use the calculator

Start with expected monthly usage rather than a peak-second estimate. Cloudflare dashboards, an existing provider's invoice, or an architecture forecast can usually provide the request, storage, operation, and compute numbers you need.

You can begin with a Discord-like chat product, X-like social network, YouTube-like video platform, e-commerce storefront, AI assistant, or B2B SaaS template. Each template shows its assumed scale and architecture before prefilling the underlying service usage. These are rough planning scenarios, not benchmarks or recommendations, so replace every assumption with your own numbers.

Each control has both a slider and an exact numeric input. The sliders make it easy to explore scenarios, while the number fields are better for entering a known forecast.

The sticky total is one combined monthly estimate in US dollars. It remains visible while you move through the service sections and also shows the annualized amount and the largest current cost drivers.

Why the total changes unevenly

Most Cloudflare products include a usage allowance before overage billing begins. Moving a slider may therefore leave the price unchanged until that allowance is exhausted. Workers requests, Workers CPU time, KV operations, Queues operations, Workflows steps, and Workers Logs all behave this way.

Products also use different billing units. R2 meters storage and operations in billing units, Images charges in blocks of stored or delivered images, and Stream charges by thousands of stored or delivered minutes. The calculator applies those units instead of pretending every product is billed continuously by the byte or request.

Durable Object duration is especially sensitive to architecture. The estimate converts active object-hours into GB-seconds using the billed 128 MB memory allocation and converts incoming WebSocket messages at Cloudflare's 20:1 billing ratio. WebSocket hibernation can stop duration charges while clients remain connected, so a room with many open connections does not necessarily have the same bill as a room executing continuously.

What this calculator cannot know

This is a planning estimate, not a quote. It does not include taxes, discounts, credits, support plans, regional contracts, or negotiated Enterprise pricing. Registrar prices depend on the top-level domain, and Hyperdrive connects to a database whose price is set by that database provider. Those costs can be entered manually.

Workers AI is also approximate. Cloudflare publishes model-specific token prices and includes a daily neuron allocation. The calculator translates the selected model's tokens into a dollar equivalent and applies a 30-day approximation of that free allocation. Actual neuron use can vary with the model and request shape.

Minimum retention periods, product-specific limits, and unusual traffic patterns may also make an invoice differ from a simple monthly model. Use the result for planning and compare it with Cloudflare's dashboard or a formal quote before making a final commitment.

Keeping the estimate current

We verified the rates against Cloudflare's official documentation on August 11, 2026. Every calculator section links directly to the corresponding pricing page so its assumptions are easy to audit. Cloudflare can change prices and included usage, so check those sources again when the estimate will inform a budget or contract.
